Position: Staff Accountant

Reports to: Senior Vice President of Hotel Accounting

Brief Description: We are searching for a motivated Staff Accountant to join us in a critical role of providing accounting and financial support services to multiple hotel ownership clients. This role will assist with hotel ownership client related accounting processes that include recording ownership transactions, maintaining balance sheet account reconciliations, external financial reporting, external audit support, financial analysis and other accounting special projects. You should be detail oriented, accurate and have an interest in accounting and financial analysis for the hotel industry.

To be a successful Staff Accountant, you should possess an understanding of basic accounting principles, be proficient in excel and experienced in using accounting general ledger software systems. You should be proactive, efficient, and organized.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare analysis of accounts
  • Assist in budgets and forecasts
  • Assist with month-end accounting closings
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of the external audit process
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
  • Maintain orderly financial filing system
  • Assist in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded
  • Other accounting special projects as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business
  • 1-2 years of accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles, concepts and practices
  • Experienced in utilizing accounting general ledger software systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel
  • Interest in the hotel industry
