Rick brings over 30 years human resources management and leadership experience from various industries. As Head of Human Resources at hotelAVE, Rick oversees talent acquisition, professional development, compensation and benefits management.

• Prior to joining hotelAVE, Rick served as Chief Human Resources Officer for StepStone Hospitality. He was responsible for designing and leading the organization’s people strategy, as well as shaping and nurturing the organization’s culture through the implementation of HR policies, practices, and programs that positively impacted people decisions while ensuring the company’s value and strategy aligned with the business goals and growth strategy
• Prior to StepStone Hospitality, Rick held HR leadership positions with Crestline Hotels and Resorts. In his last role, he had regional HR responsibility over 22 hotels (branded and independent) in multiple states nationwide, ensuring HR practices were consistently implemented according to company standards through compliance audits, in consultation with HR professionals and hotel management
• Rick grew his HR career with the American Red Cross-National Headquarters in Washington DC, taking on multiple HR roles over 10 years with a concentration in employee relations, talent acquisition, career development and strategic planning

Rick graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication. He also holds a Masters in Human Resource Management from Marymount University. He holds the SHRM – SCP designation from the Society of Human Resources Management and the SPHR designation from the Human Resources Certification Institute.
