Mailys has more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, primarily in independent and branded revenue management for urban, resort and airport hotels. As Senior Vice President, she supports a portfolio of hotels across the United States, optimizing topline strategy in all revenue centers and growing profitability.
- Prior to joining hotelAVE, Mailys successfully ran her own revenue management firm, AMC Hospitality, that provided on-going revenue management support, 360-degree audits, budget creation services. She was the Director of Revenue Management at the Watergate Hotel in Washington DC where she shifted the positioning of the hotel, established the distribution and pricing strategy for public, negotiated and wholesaler rates, changed the hotel room type configurations and installed an upsell revenue program. While at the Sofitel in Washington DC, Mailys grew RevPAR index over 5 percent in her first year and grew revenue 14% versus a budget of 5%. Mailys holds an International MBA from Pepperdine University, the Graziadio School of Business and Management. She also holds a Masters in Business Management from EDHEC Business School in France. Mailys is a Certified Revenue Management Executive, a member of HSMAI, and an adjunct professor at Roosevelt University and DePaul University. She has authored numerous articles on revenue management, including “Covid-19 Forces Hotel Revenue Management to Evolve; Breaking Down Silos and Maximizing Profits” and “Independent Hotels Can Leverage Factors that Influence Hotel Decisions to Steal Market Share.”
