As the youngest Senior Vice President in hotelAVE’s history, David Israel, CHA, is a leader in the firm’s New York practice. He currently oversees a team of associates on day‐to‐day operations and strategy to maximize the investment value of properties including independent, boutique and branded affiliations in the East Coast and Caribbean regions. He is also responsible for client relations including identifying acquisition opportunities, asset management, and consulting assignments. Since joining the firm in 2009, he has played an instrumental role in expanding the firm’s owned asset portfolio, establishing hotelAVE’s New York presence, and creating financial investment models and benchmarking tools.

David was instrumental in the formation of PostScript Hospitality and spearheaded the launch and synergistic partnership with hotelAVE, providing clients with an unprecedented full‐stop consulting and advisory, including on‐the‐ground operational services.

Prior to joining hotelAVE, Mr. Israel worked at Denihan Hospitality Group on the Acquisitions and Development team researching, underwriting, and pitching potential hotel projects. While working for PKF Hospitality Research, he developed an Excel interface based on Hotel Horizons® reports (Hotel Horizons® Multi-Market Platform) geared to assist hotel owners in tracking their portfolio and properties performance against past, present, and future market data. He also assisted in redeveloping a custom financial benchmarking tool used to index hotel P&L statements (E-Trends® in the Hotel Industry). While with Deutsch Inc., Mr. Israel assisted in the lifestyle rebranding of Westin.

As a respected thought leader, David is a frequent lecturer at his alma mater, Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, where is sits on the Dean’s Counsel for Young Alumni and New York University. He is often quoted as an industry expert in the boutique and hotel technology space. In 2014, he was named among Hotel Management's prestigious “Thirty Under 30," recognizing the hotel industry’s top talent. Mr. Israel also is an active member of the Leadership Board of the International Luxury Hotel Association and EPAREL (Bib & Tucker).
