Position: Vice President Advisory & Acquisitions

Brief Description: The firm is in search of a highly motivated, creative and proactive professional to join our firm as VP of Advisory & Acquisitions. This individual will report to the Executive Vice President of Advisory & Acquisitions and be an accomplished detail-oriented professional with a proven track record in the lodging sector and demonstrated associate and client leadership. This role will entail carrying out advisory and acquisition assignments for our internal and external clients, while actively coaching and training team members, and ensuring highest level of quality of the deliverables. The ideal candidate presents an experience oriented knowledge base of market dynamics, buy/sell transactions, financial analytics, benchmarking, hotel operations and the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

Engagements:
• Engagements are with the “Who’s who” of hospitality private equity and operators in the US, Latin America and Europe encompassing lodging acquisitions/dispositions, operations/operators, brands and capital structuring. Specific engagements may incorporate; valuations, loan underwriting, brand/management company selection/analysis, demand/supply side analytics and strategic consulting.
• Investment, Buy/sell/hold, CapEx and ROI analysis for various asset classes, single assets and portfolios, renovation and development/redevelopment/repositioning/rebranding projects
• Operator/franchise/brand search and management/franchise/lease contract negotiation
• Operational improvement & profit optimization through revenue enhancement & cost containment opportunities
• Strategic consulting such as market penetration & expansion strategies, strategic management and planning, restructuring/repositioning/rebranding analysis, market opportunity assessments
Team Leadership:
• Individual will provide hands-on execution for a wide variety of advisory and acquisition engagements, combined with associate collaboration and training
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge, keep abreast of industry trends and professional publications, establish personal networks, benchmark best practices and disseminate to the firm
Client Relationship & Business Development
• Actively contribute to establishing, maintaining and enhancing strong client relationships
• Enhance and promote a customer-centric culture throughout the organization and contribute to the delivery of superior services to our client
• Participate in the identification and securing of new business opportunities

Qualifications:

• Education & Professional Designations / Memberships:
• Minimum of bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Preferably major in Hospitality and/or Real-Estate Finance
• Strong financial acumen with solid understanding of hospitality finance & accounting
• Professional real-estate / hospitality / finance designations and memberships

Experience:
• Minimum of 5-7 years of hospitality related advisory/transactions/operations experience in a variety of services and lodging asset classes
• Industry relationships and a thorough knowledge of and interest in the lodging and hospitality industry / trends as a whole and the US hospitality market and multiple sub-markets in particular
• A positive team leader with coaching and training skills to inspire team members
• Knowledge of and an ability to interface with legal, accounting, construction disciplines combined with management-franchise contract exposure and negotiations and/or investment/capital markets/financing experience is beneficial
• A positive team leader with coaching and training skills to inspire team members
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact professionally with and create confidence amongst existing and prospective clients, and associates
• Dynamic and proactive with a strong sense of initiative and willingness to take on new challenges and drive results
• Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
• Positive, creative, innovative approach to problem solving and the ability to exercise judgment, discretion and confidentiality
• Demonstrated competence to adjust priorities, manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a time-sensitive and fast-paced environment
• Outstanding presentation skills
• Ability to travel +/-40%
• Based in Providence, RI
