Tom has more than 25 years of hospitality industry experience. Tom uses this expertise to support the asset management team and provide consulting and advisory services to hotel owners, investors and developers. Tom’s entrepreneurial venture, Flatiron Hospitality Real Estate Advisors, works with hotelAVE to provide annual operating and capital planning review and evaluation with periodic operational, planning, underwriting, and strategic assessments for owners.
Prior to starting Flatiron, Tom was Vice President of Acquisitions and Development at Magnolia Hotels/ Stout Street Hospitality. He played an instrumental role in growing the company with its first third-party management agreement and execution of a pre-development agreement to expand the footprint to the east coast. He was also the Vice President of Development and Construction at Stonebridge Companies where he led a team of project managers in the hotel development process for new construction and value-added redevelopment. In his previous roles and Amstar Group, LLC and PKF Consulting, Tom performed asset management, acquisition underwriting, due diligence, feasibility, strategic improvement planning, economic development and impact studies, and consulting services. He began his hospitality career at Hyatt Hotels and Resorts in Food and Beverage working in several operational positions and ultimately moving to department head.
