Lana Hegstrom, Director, has more than 12 years of hospitality and finance industry experience, including four years working overseas in Seoul, Hong Kong and Japan.  At hotelAVE, Ms. Hegstrom oversees a portfolio of hotels.  She is actively involved in the asset management, operational, investment analyses and strategic plans for the properties.

Prior to joining hotelAVE, Ms. Hegstrom worked at Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund, where she managed an opportunistic and core hospitality portfolio of $7.2 billion, including $4 billion in resorts and $800 million in core hotel assets in the U.S.  She was responsible for creating business plans, budgets, capital expenditures and overseeing project management with expected value added capital expenditure activity of approximately $1.2 billion.  Before her position at Morgan Stanley, Ms. Hegstrom worked for Marriott International where she evaluated numerous potential hotel development opportunities and multi-unit acquisitions to obtain long-term management agreements.  Earlier in her career, Ms. Hegstrom held other finance and real estate positions at Lehman Brothers, Oaktree Capital Management LLC., and Sheraton Grande Walkerhill.

Ms. Hegstrom obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, where she received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration.
