Philip Berins, Executive Vice President, has been involved in hotel consulting, asset management, valuation, litigation support, acquisitions, new development and real estate repositioning since 1989 with significant operations experience in the years prior. Mr. Berins' asset management experience is in benchmarking, ROI analysis, and management contract negotiations and compliance. He also spearheads the firm’s acquisition due diligence group.
Before joining hotelAVE in 2004, Mr. Berins established the first feasibility and investment analysis department at Starwood Hotels and Resorts, and later became the head of the equivalent group at Hilton Hotels Corporation. He has prepared and supervised more than 200 appraisals and over 1,000 hotel pro formas. He has additional hotel experience in operational positions with Hyatt, Omni, and Harvey Hotels (now part of Intercontinental).
